Kubos secures USD 2.1 million investment to accelerate development of novel material microLEDs for high-speed optical interconnects 

Kubos Semiconductors is pleased to announce it has raised over USD 2.1 million to accelerate development of our cubic GaN technology. The investment includes the award of a Growth Catalyst project grant from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). This funded project will explore the potential of Kubos’ patented cubic GaN microLED technology to deliver Gigahertz switch speeds at low operating powers for optical communication applications. Kubos Semiconductors Ltd is delighted to announce that, following a period of transition with her predecessor Caroline O’Brien, Dr Susan Gormley will become Chief Executive Officer effective September 22nd.

Susan previously worked at IQE Plc for 30+ years, playing an influential role in its growth from start-up to the global organisation of today.
